Sandvick qualifies for national speech competition
The University of Mary Marauders Speech Team placed second overall at the North Dakota-South Dakota Combined Speech Tournament, Feb. 20, at North Dakota State University in Fargo.
Four teams competed from the two states. U-Mary students made an impressive showing at this important tournament.
Two students, Stephanie Sandvick, of Mandan, and Kristin Laylock, of Mars, Pa., both qualified to represent the state of North Dakota in persuasive speaking at this year’s national contest of the Interstate Oratorical Association at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Okla., April 23-24.
