Bluegrass Blizzard brings concerts, workshops
Cottonwood and Bismarck State College are presenting the ninth annual Bluegrass Blizzard scheduled Jan. 3-4 on the BSC campus.
The weekend includes 7:30 p.m. concerts Friday and Saturday featuring Cottonwood and the Wood Picks, a Thief River Falls, Minn., band, in the Sidney J. Lee Auditorium.
Tickets are $15 and available at Eckroth Music, Jacobsen Music and a Nite Life Music in Bismarck, Cappuccino on Collins in Mandan, Chase Drug and Java Rose in Washburn, Corner Express in Center or at the door.
From 2 to 4 p.m. Jan. 4 a bluegrass workshop will take place at the BSC band room.
There will be workshops for fiddle, guitar, mandolin, banjo and bass. Participants will get individual instruction and learn a bluegrass song. The cost for the workshop is $5 with no preregistration required.
At 9 a.m. Jan. 3. the Wood Picks will perform a free concert, open to the public, at Pioneer Elementary School in Bismarck.
