Braves named for academic all-conference honors
The following Mandan High School student athletes have earned the distinction of Academic All-Conference for the WDA spring sports season:
Baseball – Bryce Andresen, Jerry Carlson, Tre Kautzman, Trever Leingang, Derik Schaner, Dylan Scherr, Brady Zittleman. Boys golf – Erik Porter, Tate Russell, Zach Wiese. Boys track and field – Jon Fishbeck, Dylan Horner, Daniel Peterson, Samuel Ravnaas, Payton Schafer, Brandon Schaner, Preston Schmidt, Dale Spilman. Girls soccer – Sara Aune, Erin Bussman, Samantha Bussman, Mariah Fredericks, Courtney Goetz, Makayla Kohler, Casey Pittman, Samantha Power, JaeLyn Russell, Madysen Zander. Girls tennis – Amanda Hillstrom, Breanna Olson, Barbara Senger, Hannah Tibke, Theresa Wanner. Girls track and field – Alyssa Breuer, Alison Froelich, Alexis Goldade, Rachelle Harr, Kayla Helbling, Tara Helfrich, Sasha Hopfauf, Destiny Kindsvogel, Miranda Lowman, Chelsea Peterson, Shelby Peterson, Krista Sauber.
To be named to the WDA Academic All-Conference, students must be a member of a varsity team and earn a minimum 3.6 grade point average during the nine-week period they are active in the sport.
In addition, the Braves girls track and field, baseball, boys golf and girls soccer teams earned the distinction of earning the NDHSAA Team Scholar Award. This award is given to NDHSAA sanctioned varsity teams that have a composite GPA of 3.2 or better for the nine-week period they are active in the sport.
