The Mandan Art Association is hosting an exhibit of items from members of the Mid State Porcelain Guild during the month of June at its gallery, located at 411 W. Main St. in Heritage Plaza.  An open house reception will be held on Saturday, June 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Several members of the porcelain guild will be demonstrating their painting techniques during the open house.

China painting is a complex process where several layers of paint are placed on the porcelain which is then fired in a kiln between each paint layer. This process creates the depth and luminous finish you will see on the completed china pieces. China painting can be done on plates, cups, vases, wall tiles, tea sets, jewelry pendants and many other items. Stop at the gallery and view the variety of pieces that will be on display from June 2 through June 30.
