Hey Dan, I agree the internet has not made the postal office obsolete but as with every government branch they are VERY slow to realize what was coming and didn’t scale back when they should have….. Getting an understanding of online bill pay and how to enter that business, drive comparable rates that put them into the business of FedEx and UPS….. Maybe to slow to late………
It was funny reading the comment about the checkbook….. I was totally thinking Gary H. when I read that comment… As a forerunner in the technology field I can’t say I completely agree with you on all fronts (internet shopping has opened up a whole new competitive market) but I totally agree about getting and taking the time to disconnect and slow down the pace to just enjoy time with the family, friends and just enjoy what life has to offer….. Thanks for the good read!!!

I don’t know if the USPS will survive but I wouldn’t bet on it,too many things are stacked against them,namely the US Congress. The PO had to pull all the copiers out of their lobbies because Kinkos had one of their pet congressman complain.The PO wasn’t allowed to just have a carrier deliver nothing but Express Mail because UPS & FEDEX complained to their pet congressmen.A USPS administered universal non-corporate email address system was proposed but stopped by Congress.And on and on,now $5.5 billion+ a year to fund retirements,when the USPS hasn’t hired fulltime workers in over 5 years.I work for the PO and I don’t think it can win,it and its unions cannot bribe politicians to the extent that corporations can.Thank you,Coleman McDonough
