Info session on law enforcement matters rescheduled for April 30
A community education forum about Mandan law enforcement will be held Tuesday, April 30, at Mandan City Hall. The session originally planned for April 15 was postponed due to the snowstorm. The Mandan Tomorrow – Leadership, Pride and Image Committee is hosting the session to give citizens a chance to learn more about local government services.
At the April 30 forum, Mandan Police Chief Dennis Bullinger and Deputy Chief Paul Leingang will discuss daily challenges faced by local officers and future department needs to keep pace with community growth. Their presentation will include a report on 2012 crime statistics and various aspects of law enforcement including criminal investigations, drug enforcement, school and youth safety, and traffic enforcement. Mayor Arlyn Van Beek will be on hand to provide additional perspective about budget priorities as the member of the Mandan City Commission responsible for the public safety portfolio. Participants will have ample opportunity to ask questions.
The session will be held at Mandan City Hall from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Register to attend at cityofmandan.com under the “Meetings & Event Registration” tab or call 667-3485.
Previous sessions covered the State of the School District, Property Tax 101 and Public Works responsibilities, including snow removal and street maintenance. Dakota Media Access recorded the programs for rebroadcast viewing on Government Access cable channel 2 and online viewing at freetv.org.
