Mandan Tomorrow hosting a “Talk of the Town” meeting

The Mandan Tomorrow – Economic Opportunity and Prosperity Committee is hosting a “Talk of the Town” forum Sept. 17 to give local business people a chance to visit with Mandan’s elected officials about community opportunities and issues that may affect their enterprises.

During the “town hall” style event, Mandan Mayor Arlyn Van Beek, Mandan Park Board President Jason Arenz and Mandan School Board President Tim Rector will be available to answer questions about Mandan’s progress, ongoing projects and future initiatives. Topics of discussion may include the City roadway plans and development projects, Park District facility plans and ways the School District can expose students to career opportunities with local businesses.

“The meeting will give our business community a chance to ask questions of elected officials about topics important to them,” Rob Knoll, EOP Committee Chair and owner of Knoll Appraisals Inc., said.
The event will take place Sept. 17 from 6-8 p.m. at the Seven Seas Inn. Advance registration is requested by Sept. 15. You can register at www.cityofmandan.com/register or by calling 667-3478.

“Talk of the Town” is the second in a series of business outreach sessions offered by the committee in 2014. The first session, held in May, focused on commercial development and business location opportunities. The third session, “Business Start-Up 101” for aspiring entrepreneurs is planned for October or November.

The outreach sessions are co-hosted by the City of Mandan Business Development Office, Bismarck-Mandan Development Association and Bismarck-Mandan Chamber.

The Economic Opportunity and Prosperity Committee is helping to implement the Mandan Tomorrow strategic plan.
