Custer Health to hold seasonal flu clinics

Influenza can be a serious disease, even for healthy people. It’s recommended that everyone six months and older get a yearly flu vaccine.

This year, Custer Health wants to make it easier for you and your loved ones to get your flu vaccine by offering several Seasonal Flu Clinics throughout the area.

In Mandan, clinics will be held at the Mandan office, at 210 Second Ave. N.W. on the following days: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5 (no appointment necessary); 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8 (no appointment necessary); 1 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8 (by appointment only); and 2 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24 (by appointment only).

A flu clinic will also be held at Mandan Golden Age on Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. No appointments are necessary for that clinic.

Flu clinics will also be offered throughout Morton County. Clinics are scheduled for the following dates: New Salem Pioneer Club, 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9; Almont Nutrition Center, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9; Flasher 55 Club, 12 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16; Hebron Senior Center, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17; and Glen Ullin Senior Center, 12:15 to 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17. No appointments will be necessary for these clinics.

Flu shots will cost $30. Injectable vaccine will be available for adults and children. FluMist will be available for children only. Bring all insurance cards, including Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance cards.

“Anyone can get the flu and vaccination is the single best way to protect against the flu. Even healthy kids and adults can get very sick from the flu and spread it to family and friends,” says Heather Weaver, Registered Nurse at Custer Health.

Vaccines are also available at Custer Health’s offices in Carson, Elgin, Center, Stanton, Beulah and Hazen. Call 667-3370 or 888-667-3370 for an appointment, or visit for immunization clinic schedules.
