Bismarck, Mandan bands to unite for concert

On Monday, Oct. 15, and Tuesday, Oct. 16, Mandan High School and Century High School will be hosting the annual Invitational Band Festival. Bands participating in this year’s festival are Bismarck High School, directed by Robert Peske; St. Mary’s Central High School, directed by Luke Keller; Century High School, directed by Chris Dasovick; and Mandan High School, directed by Jon Baumann.

Clinicians for the festival are Anthony Williams from the University of Mary, Lucas Bernier from the University of Mary, and Scott Sandberg from the University of Mary.

Guest conductors for this festival are Dr. Joseph Missal from Oklahoma State University and Dr. Thomas O’Neal from the University of Missouri.

The order of performances on Monday morning are: 8 a.m., Bismarck High School; 8: 50 a.m., St. Mary’s Central High School; 9:40 a.m., Century High School; and 10:30 a.m., Mandan High School. These performances are free to the public.

The Grand Concert featuring the combined bands from Bismarck High, Century High, St. Mary’s and Mandan High School will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening, Oct. 16, in the Century High School Olson Gymnasium.

Admission for the concert is $3 for students, $5 for adults or $15 per family.
