Farmer wins contest for Hebron Fire Hall
Hebron Fire Protection District will now be able to better protect the community, thanks to the support of local farmer, Ronald Schantz, and America’s Farmers Grow Communities.
Ronald Schantz, of Hebron, has been selected as a winner in America’s Farmers Grow Communities, which gives farmers the opportunity to win a $2,500 donation to direct to their favorite local nonprofit organizations. Ronald Schantz selected the Hebron Fire Protection District.
The Hebron Fire Protection District received the $2,500 donation through America’s Farmers Grow Communities, during a public ceremony on Monday, March 25.
“It is great that I can give back to my fire department through Grow Communities,” Schantz said. “It is really expensive to keep all the equipment and supplies up to date and I’m sure this donation will help them out.”
The district will use the donation to purchase gas monitors and a thermal image monitor.
In 1,271 eligible counties in 39 states, farmers could sign up for the opportunity to win a $2,500 donation for their favorite community nonprofit. This year, the Monsanto Fund will invest over $5 million in rural America through Grow Communities, which includes double donations for counties suffering from the historic drought. This program is part of the Monsanto Fund’s overall effort to support rural America. In North Dakota, $127,500 is being given across 33 counties.
