Junior High All State Band Festival set for Saturday in Mandan
The North Dakota Junior High All State Band Festival will be taking place on Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16, at the Mandan High School Auditorium. Rehearsals will begin Friday afternoon, with the concert at 3 p.m. in the Mandan High School Auditorium. The festival provides a learning and performance opportunity for seventh and eighth grade band students from across the state.
The band will be led by Sean O’Loughlin, a composer and arranger of well-known band literature from Los Angeles, California. He has had recent collaborations with Adele, Sarah McLachlan, Hall & Oates, and Harry Connick, Jr.
Joining the JH All State Band at the concert is the Bismarck-Mandan Wind Ensemble, conducted by John Darling from Bismarck State College. This ensemble consists of adult musicians from around the area, committed to fine band performance and education of students.
