Police log: Vehicle-pedestrian accident

A Mandan man, 86, was injured in a vehicle-pedestrian accident on Monday around 8:17 a.m.

According to the Mandan Police Department, the accident took place at the intersection of 1st St. and 2nd Ave. N.W. The pedestrian was crossing the intersection in the crosswalk when he was struck by a westbound vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was a male Mandan resident.

The victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for bruises he sustained, but he is expected to be released today.

The accident is still under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.

A woman at the scene, told officers she witnessed the accident; however, she left before officers could take down her name. The Mandan Police Department is asking she contact the department, as well as anyone else with information about the accident at 701-667-3250.
