Native Mandan resident, Kevin Kremer, stays in touch through a Facebook Group called “Growing up in Mandan, we use to…”

Kremer is a former Mandan, Rugby and Bismarck elementary school teacher, and is the author of several children’s books. However, Kremer now lives in Sarasota, Fla., where he’s resided since 2001.

His current undertaking is creating an e-book called “Growing up in Mandan.” He would like to welcome others to contribute content to the online book.

Kremer says he is looking for people to share memorable or funny experiences, local stories about Mandan, even poems and pictures.

Contributors are to send stories that are already edited with titles provided. There is no length required, short stories are accepted.

Kramer suggests sending up to five pictures with captions. He is also especially looking for pictures of the Mandan outdoor pool, Jumbo’s Drive-In, S&K Dairy Queen, and the tunnel under the railroad tracks.

Email contributions to Kevin Kremer at georgesdonuts@aol.com. Please include the author’s name, current mailing address, phone number and area code. Also, include the most recent Mandan area address and graduation year from Mandan High School or otherwise. Lastly, include the elementary school the author attended in fifth grade, and the name of fifth grade teacher.

All contributions must be in by Thursday, March 20, 2014.
