Legion honors its longstanding members

On May 1, the Mandan American Legion Post 40 honored longtime members Clement Weber for 60 years of continuous membership, and Ellis Pittenger and B.C. McFerran for 50 years of continuous membership.

August Keller (60 years continuous membership), Wally Schmelling (50 years continuous membership) and Roy Gilbeath (50 years continuous membership) were unable to attend the meeting, but were also recognized.

A free steak dinner was provided for all members in attendance.

Members also elected officers Jake Raile as Vice Commander, Aron McFerran as Adjutant), Don McFerran the Sgt. of Arms, Mike Blasco the Historian, Ken Clouston as the Chaplin, Dick Bechtel a Trustee and Ron Otto as the Veterans Service Officer.
