Library celebrating end of the summer reading program Aug. 6

Morton Mandan Public Library will celebrate the end of the summer reading program “Dig into Reading” on Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 1 to 8:30 p.m. at Dykshoorn Park.

Story time and crafts will be provided under a special story tree with a free book to kids who participated in the summer reading program (while supplies last). The event is open to the public, and being held in conjunction with St. Alexius’ Back to School Extravaganza, which will run from 1 to 6:30 p.m. Kids are asked to bring a stuffed toy or doll for a check-up at St. A’s Buddy Clinic in the park.

A special music and puppet program with Steve Harmon will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the summer reading program grand prizes awarded at 6:50 p.m. Families are invited to bring a picnic supper or support the Dacotah Lion’s burger night.  The evening will conclude with the Bismarck-Mandan Musicians Association’s summer music in the park.
