Mandan takes fourth at state speech
Mandan took fourth place at the 61st annual State Class A Speech Tournament, which was held at Jamestown High School on April 20.
Bismarck Saint Mary’s captured first with 131 points, followed by Fargo Shanley in second and Fargo Davies in third. Mandan placed fourth with 56 points.
Mandan received one first place finisher at the state tournament. Mattie Singer took first place in the category of dramatic interpretation. Singer, along with Carter Tomac, also captured second place in the serious duo category.
All participants of the state meet qualified from one of two regional tournaments or qualified at an invitational tournament held during the season.
