Police investigating sexual assault

The Mandan Police Department is investigating a report of a sexual assault on a female that took place at approximately 1 a.m. on Monday, April 22. The alleged assault took place in a semi-tractor that was parked in a parking lot near the Lonesome Dove Bar on The Strip.

The victim said the unknown male suspect may have been en route from Canada to South Dakota and talked about the city of Regina and picking up an oversized load. The suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his late 50s. He is approximately 5’9″ tall with a thin build, with blonde and gray hair. He also had a mustache with some white in it.

The semi-tractor the suspect drove is a white Kenworth conventional tractor, and police believe the model is possibly a W900 with an aluminum grill guard on the front. There is lettering of about four to five characters long on the cab door, which is believed to be a company name. The lettering is cursive in style and blue in color with a silver outline. Saskatchewan, Canada, was also written on the door. The trailer is a drop deck flatbed that was not loaded at the time of the assault.

If anyone has any information on the assault, contact Detective April Jose at the Mandan Police Department at 667-3250.
