Thompson meets with lieutenant governor

Morgan Thompson, National DECA president, and Alexander Spilman, State DECA vice president and Mandan High School senior, recently met with Lieutenant Governor Drew Wrigley at the North Dakota capitol during the legislative session. DECA officers gathered at the capital to increase awareness of the DECA program and secure operational funding.

DECA is a career and technical student organization that academically prepares students for college and careers in marketing, finance, hospitality or management. Students practice leadership skills such as goal setting, consensus building and project management during various activities. The organization teaches professionalism for emerging leaders with ethics, integrity and high standards. DECA also helps students gain an appreciation for the benefits of service and their impact on the community and world.

DECA was founded in 1946 has benefited more than 10 million students, educators, school administrators and business professionals.
