Mandan citizens can now pay utility bills online

The City of Mandan’s Finance Department this week introduced a new and improved service in the form of an integrated, online bill viewing and payment system for utility services. Customers can now view their bills for water usage, street lights and garbage collection and other city services online, which will ultimately reduce costs in printing and mailing bills. Customers participating in online billing will receive e-mails when their bills are ready for viewing. They’ll simply click through and the bill will appear with all the same information provided on a paper bill.

Customers may opt out of receiving paper bills; however, if they prefer to still receive a paper bill, they can still pay electronically. When customers pay online, by smart phone or by calling, the payments post to the billing software, saving time and eliminating potential manual input errors. Another benefit is that up-to-date amounts due are posted daily, so customers can know how much they owe by simply going online or viewing it on a mobile app.

Customers can pay from the comfort of their homes, seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Here are the options linked through

• View bills and pay online. Register first, then view bills and/or make a payment.
• Download the “PSN Payments” application for a smart phone. Register online before using the app.
• Call to pay. Toll free at 1-877-885-7968 (have a previous bill handy to provide your customer account number).

Customers can pay by credit or debit card as well as making an electronic payment from checking or savings. Residents can pay immediately, schedule a payment or set up auto-pay and not have to worry about making payments for each bill. Auto-payments can be for the amount of the bill or a set budgeted amount.

The City’s provider, Payment Service Network, has attained Level 1 Certification by the Payment Card Industry – Data Security Standard, the highest degree of security awarded by the industry. If residents have any questions, they can call PSN’s HELP line, toll free at 1-866-917-7368.
