Mandan FFA banquet recognizes its members
Earlier this month, the Mandan FFA Chapter held its annual banquet. Members were recognized for their achievements from their activities throughout the year. They were again recognized for their accomplishments at the state contest in June and for their Winter Career Development achievements. In addition, several other awards were presented by the chapter’s advisors Mr. Axt and Mrs. Reiter at the banquet for the most outstanding individuals in each age group for their involvement in the year’s activities.
This year, the Star Greehand award, presented to an outstanding freshman, was given to Stetson Ellingson. Likewise, the Outstanding Sophomore award was presented to Patrick Johnson, the Outstanding Junior award was given to Sydni Schmidt, and the Outstanding Senior award was presented to Macey Isaacs. The Star Chapter Farmer award was also given out, which went to Renae Tokach.
In addition to rewarding students for their contributions to the chapter, the Honorary Member award was given to an individual whose assistance to the chapter had made a large impact on the members. This year, this award was given to Nick Krush, a teacher at Mandan High School.
Not only were awards given away at the banquet, but scholarships were also awarded to select members. This year, the chapter gave out three $500 scholarships to three graduating seniors – Kaylyn Hopfauf, Macey Isaacs and Renae Tokach.
