Morton County 4-Hers compete at Little International

The Morton County Junior and Senior Livestock Judging Teams participated in the Little International Livestock Judging Contest on Feb. 10.

The junior team placed first in the contest. Team members are Stetson, Jameson and Sierra Ellingson, of St. Anthony, Sara Jochim, Hunter Schlosser and Kathryn Goettle, of Mandan, and  Sara Jochim, of Flasher. Individually, Sara was 10th high, Stetson was second and Jameson was high individual in the junior contest. The team placed first in oral reasons, first in swine judging and first in sheep judging.

The senior team members participating were Taylor Friesz, of New Salem, Tessa Keller, of Mandan, and Renae Tokach, of St. Anthony. Individually, Taylor was second, Tessa was fifth and Renae was ninth. The team was also second in oral reasons.

The team was third in sheep judging, fifth in beef judging, first in swine judging and second in oral reasons.

The teams are coached by Richard Tokach, of St. Anthony, and Jackie Buckley and Dwight Keller, both of Mandan.

The teams are preparing to participate in the state contest that will be held at the North Dakota Winter Show in Valley City in March.
