The Bismarck Reps picked up a win and the Mandan A’s fell victim to Grand Forks in Thursday’s opening round of the state Junior Legion Tournament.
The Reps trimmed Wahpeton 6-3 on Alex Horner’s one-hit pitching effort. They play again at 4 p.m. today.
Mandan fell victim to a five-run fourth-inning Grand Forks rally in a 9-4 loss. The A’s play at 9 a.m. today in a loser-out game.

Parker Harm finished the night going 6-for-9 with seven RBIs, three homers and a double to help the Mandan Chiefs beat Jamestown 9-3 and 9-3 in a doubleheader on Friday night.
Harm also got the pitching victory in the first game.

State Junior Tournament
Friday, July 25
The Bismarck Reps advanced in the winners’ bracket with a 6-5 victory over West Fargo at the state junior Legion baseball tournament on Friday.
Alex Russell, who relieved Zac Martin in the fourth inning, picked up the pitching victory.
Martin, Luke Leingang and Cole Foss picked up two hits each.
The Mandan A’s were eliminated by the Fargo Bombers, 6-4, in the losers’ bracket. Ricky Zander led Mandan by going 4-for-4. Taylor Shipman hit a solo shot;.
The A’s did post a 6-5 win over Fargo Post 400 earlier in the day. Mason Schlosser blasted a three-run homer in the fourth inning.
Jeremy Friesz earned the win, striking out eight batters in 61/3 innings before Alex Horner came on to get the final two outs for a save.
